Thanks to my wonderful Design Director at Speedo, I received these nice product shots of the girl's swim trainers I designed for Speedo/Target last year. Usually I troll the internet about a year after designing to find out which designs have been chosen and released, so having high-res images is a treat.
I thought it would be fun to lay out the sketch to production progression. Sometimes a final design looks very similar to the sketch, sometimes more refinement is needed after the client chooses from the preliminary concepts. The illustration styles called-for can be very different for boys vs. girls. I was happy with these two particular designs because I think stylistically they match so well. The boy's art was not taken to production, but you can see the full girl's collection here.
